Our Anniversary Weekend

John and I headed down to Okotoks area for a Bed and Breakfast get-a-way. It was almost disastorous as the place we had planned to go ended up not having some key elements working when we got there, and we had not been notified...plus the owners were away and all the special 'perks' that were to be included in our weekend, had either been forgotten or overlooked. We ended up deciding not to stay there, not knowing what would happen as the owners were unavailable for contact as they were in the carribean...but we took our chances as paying a tidy sum of money for what we could have had at home was not o.k. in our books...It was supposed to be special!! Luckily we discovered the following BnB had an opening and was amazing, and we highly recommend staying there if you have the opportunity! Here are a couple pics of us relaxing at "Cindy's Bed and Breakfast" in Dewinton. www.cindysbedbreakfast.com

Faster then a speeding bullet...

Ethan runs. And Ethan looks so funny when he does. But is is also extremely cute! This is a prime example. He went running up to our friends house after his play time was done.  Posted by Picasa
A couple weekends ago we went up to Edmonton so John's side of the family could wish him a Happy 40th. I realize i have no pictures of his family, but here are a few of his frivolity with the kids!

You're just like your mother!

Sierra, a daugther after her mother's heart...able and willing to sleep in any position. Here she had climbed up onto the back cushions of Grand ma Tina's couch and, well, she rolled a bit.

I somehow forgot to put this in our run of 'leap of faith' pictures...left you all hanging if you'd seen before this one was on...but just as God is always faithful to be there and to catch us when we take our leap of faith...so was Sierra's daddy! Posted by Picasa
Scout and Caspian...what entertainment they are! Just ask John :) Posted by Picasa
Our Lethbridge trip. We headed down for a bit of visiting and to pick up a 'new' dog. she's pictured in the previous picture. She is a 5 year old, purebred black lab...she has been used at a breeders, as a mom. Now she is finished having pups and we got her for free but need to spay her. She is presently in heat and that is not much fun...in fact as I write this the kids began laughing at the two in their outdoor run...I looked out as did John to discover our neutered male joined rather firmly with her...John's first experience seeing this side of a dog's life...I didn't know it could happen with a neutered male and a female but wonders just never cease.

Anyhow, enjoy the pictures below to get the image I may have just instilled into your head...out!

Ethan taking a leap into his fathers waiting arms...picture of faith.

And Sierra's play by play unfavored dismount from the tree, her faith wasn't quite as strong but she made it...another picture of faith I am sure! (perhas the more common one known to man!)

Here are a few pictures of our back yard and the view we have from our west facing rooms (kitchen and fireplace living room). It's amazing and the pictures do not do it justice, as the mountains down this end of town are HUGE! But you'll really have to strain to see them. When we lived North of here, the mountains were visable from our deck but were much 'shorter'. As you can see our backyard has a pond...those of you who know me (and my small case of scatterbrainedness) may fear for my children...as do I! but so far no incidences.
It has rained here the past couple days...everything is very wet. But hopefully it will dry up for Pete and Kate's reception. It is very possibly being held here. Dad's B-day went so well it has become a popular destination for large parties :) So cool!

Here I am hoping Sierra's biological father Phil and his wife and his family get to check out this site as I am terrible at keeping them up to date with new pictures. These 2 collages are of Sierra and Ocean opening her presents from them (christmas '05). She was very excited and is still using each of these gifts! Thanks Kim and Phil...you 2 are awesome and we are blessed to have you as part of our family. (distant family as it is :) Posted by Picasa

Inner working of E.D.'s mind

I think this goes something like... see my skinny tummy? if mom won't feed me I'll take care of myself, mmmmmnnnh, icing! Now you can see my belly is full...what'll they do when they see what I've done?!!?. He's not always so serious, now you can all see this is true! Posted by Picasa

New Livingroom

Here is one of our living rooms in our new house. And journey and ethan are pretending to nap (well Ethan is anyway) in a chair in our fireplace living room--which is at the other end of the house from the one pictured here. I'll keep taking pictures of our home so those of you who are far away can see what it is like.

SURPRISE!! HERE WE ARE!!

Here is a 'new' picture of each of us. SURPRISE!! I am aiminng to catch up eventually...just so easy to let it go when I know you can still find out what is happening via others blogs!! I cheat I know, so I'll search out some unique pictures and put them up soon...I promise :)

Seargent Pepper, this is sierra's new pony, we've had him on loan since "Clancey" went in for training. Clancey has not calmed down enough, no I doubt will he for some time, for sierra to be safe with him so his trainer agreed to trade him for this little guy. I think she's getting a good deal as clancey is registered and will go far with the right confident, older rider...and we're getting a good deal because Srgt. Pepper is Sierra's size, has a great personality and has enough attitude to keep her busy. His feet are typical pony feet but we have our trusty farrier on to it. anyhow, this is a picture of sierra in the fall with him. i came out to find she had caught him, tied him up and was, I am assuming, trying to get him a bit cleaner...by dumping buckets of water on him! I told her she needed to stop it, and she did, but he was a trooper through the whole thing, think he might have actually enjoyed the attention. Posted by Picasa
This is her apology to him for being overly 'sierra' with him. He handled it all very gentlemanly. He is after all a Seargent! Posted by Picasa

Here's the story...Ethan hair has been getting out of control, and contains many things, like lipstick, nail polish...you can't just rub that out you know, and then today Sierra gave him a bleeding wound and I couldn't tell how bad it was, so... Posted by Picasa
